I'm so sorry for your loss, I think most of us have probably been there at some time and it's not easy. You need to deal with her death in much the same way you would get over losing a family member because after all she was a member of the family. You will go through all the stages of grief, denial, anger, sadness etc until you come to acceptance. There are pet bereavement organizations you can contact, not sure where abouts you're from but I'm sure if you google pet bereavement it will come up with some. It helps to talk so feel free to chat away on here and tell us all about Sammy. My own dog Bart is 13 years old and not in good health, you know the time will come but it never really prepares you. Take care.
