Default What To Eat After Child Birth
Nutrition is very important after giving birth because the body needs it very much. The body needs to recover so proper nutrition is important together with proper amount of rest. Observing a balanced diet is very important to allow the body to heal and have more energy to take on the job of being a mom and caring for the baby. Here's a guide to proper nutrition after child birth:

General Nutrition
  • You need to consume 5 servings of bread, potatoes, cereals, fresh fruits, and vegetables everyday
  • 2 Servings of meat, fish, or alternative, milk, and dairy
  • A small amount of fatty foods and sugars

For Breastfeeding Mothers
  • Protein rich diet such as meat, fish, eggs, legumes
  • 4 - 5 servings of fresh fruits and vegetables
  • Minimum of 2 servings of milk and dairy products for added calcium
  • 8 glasses of water, preferably a glass every time you breast feed

Snacks and Meal Suggestions
  • Eggs, toast, and fresh fruit juice for breakfast
  • Cereals and milk for breakfast and snacks
  • For snacks, fresh fruits are very good or a bowl of salad
  • Mixed salad, boiled, steamed, or grilled veggies for lunch and dinner
  • One high protein main dish like grilled or baked chicken, steak, or grilled or baked fish
  • You can treat yourself of natural frozen yogurt or fruit sorbet if your body craves for it
