I knew I would have a microbrewery beer while on vacation in the "Microbrewery Capital" of Oregon, so I planned for it, and stayed pretty much Induction (not a 4th rung OWL) those 2 days I indulged. It worked for me, but I had already been on Atkins 8-1/2 months.

Mind you, this was no 2.6 carb Michelob Ultra...IF I planned to indulge, I expected my beer to have a ton of carbs. Of course, they don't know (or won't say) how many! My guess was about 25 for the "pint" they serve! Could have been up to 40 for all I knew...but I planned for it and it was worth it. Right back on track the next day.

I'm of the opinion that we have to live life BUT we have to know ourselves and what we will or won't do when knowingly "break" the plan. For some, it is the slippery slope.

DO enjoy your holiday! Where you can make really good choices, because it doesn't really matter, MAKE them. Where it DOES matter to you, make the most responsible choice you can.
