Aimee... habits are hard to break. Add in a habit that's also a chemical addiction and it's going to be even HARDER. Your body is sending you signals to eat the carbs... so really, it wasn't anything to feel guilty about. You didn't do it because you were weak, or didn't care, or thought you could get away with it. Your body is going to send these signals until you make the switch to ketosis and start using ketones instead of glucose for energy.
What to do... plan better. Don't let yourself go too long without eating. If a craving/desire for something off plan sneaks up on you... know what you'll do. A good idea is to eat something with protein and HIGH FAT. A boiled egg mixed with mayonaise... or a chicken leg with the skin on it... or cheese. Feed the cravings fat and protein. If that doesn't "fix" it, eat a sour dill pickle. Really... sour counteracts the desire for sweet. Try it!
Make sure you're hydrated... drink water all day long. Often times cravings are triggered by thirst.
Spread your carbs out over the day. Don't have them all at once.
Now... get up and make a plan. You'll need a solid three to four days before this will ease up. Know what you're going to do next time it hits.
And... why did you have chocolate and biscuits available??? LOL
