I'm a newbie, but one thing I've been told is that if you eat too many carbs, your body will switch back to carb burning mode instead of fat burning mode.

It can take two full days of low carbs to get back into ketosis afterwards, so you're not just losing your saturday and sunday, you're potentially losing saturday -> tuesday.
