Default NET CARBS
Hi,
Ive been 'on' the atkins diet for a couple of weeks along with some of my friends. We are easily confused by 'net carbs'. I gathered from info on net that its the part of carbohydrate that sugars which you look at, BUT if thats the case i have oven chips with a carb content of 28.1 per 100g when cooked but it says only 0.5 of that sugars which means i could eat oven chips on 'atkins' which im 99% sure isnt right. Ive now read on here somewhere i should be looking at fibre content??? Im soooo confused and really dont want to mess things up.
Can someone please explain to me very simply what a net carb is?
What part of a food label do i eat by?
Thanks in advance
karen
