If you're building muscle, make a salad from raw spinach instead of lettuce. It's what I do(or I mix the two), and the spinach has a lot of nutrients and vitamins that are much more helpful than lettuce, especially to a bodybuilder. Plus it's 1 net carb for nearly 3 cups.
