Default Are dietary trans fats really bad for you?
Not really sure where this should go (which forum). But here's a link to an article on trans fats. We talk about those a lot here. This really describes what they are, why we should avoid it and how much is considered safe (not much!).

http://www.ars.usda.gov/News/docs.htm?docid=16212

FYI, they're now saying that the limit on trans fats should be 0.5% of your daily intake. For a 2000 calorie a day diet, that's about 1 gram of trans fats... a day. Since manufacturers can label their products that have less than 1/2 gram per serving (could be 0.499) as ZERO grams, it's scary how fast we could easily go over 1 gram. Studies show that damage results at 2 g per day. Not a lot of leeway there folks.

Please read this article if you're not convinced yet that you need to avoid trans fats.
