If it's just bran (the actual bran part of the wheat grain) then it's just fiber. If it's a bran CEREAL, then it's not... you can tell the difference by reading the ingrediet list. If it says "wheat bran" and nothing else, AND the fiber count equals the carb count, then you can add it to stuff for the fiber.... if there are other ingredients it's not the same thing.

Whole grains are the last rung of the carb ladder and are added when you're basically in maintenance.

No, this is proper wheat bran from Holland and Barrett. The carb content is 26 but the fibre is 36. But as this is Britain I doubt if this is as good news as it would be if you are in USA.
