Caroline, whatever the scales says it's just a number. It doesn't define YOU or your SUCCESS. Cookies will change the number... oh yes, they will... but NOT in the direction you want. So just forget about the cookies. They are not Caroline Food. Caroline does not eat cookies. Ok? Good!

Weight loss takes time and patience. It won't happen overnight or even over a week or a month. It happens when people keep on keeping on... even when they're discouraged, tired, premenstrual, cranky, sad, upset, etc. Every choice you make takes you a little closer to your goal. You might not see it on the scale, but those tiny daily successes add up. Keep that in mind and work at making as many tiny steps in the right direction that you can. No matter how far you have to go, you can only reach your goal one step at a time.

Now, if you mess up and eat a cookie tonight you have to come here and CONFESS it to me. You do NOT want to have to do that, do you? I didn't think so... and if you think my pep talks are frank, wait til you read one of my "do you really want to lose wt or not" talks.

Caroline... you can do this. We all can do this. We just have to believe it, want it more than anything else and be willing to work for it. Determination is for more important than willpower will ever be.
