Am I a freak?
I'm trying to analyze how I was on Atkins before the accident, to see how exactly I pulled it off.
For reference I will give salient details.
2003 - Summer. 310lbs.
Atkins over winter, long term induction phase not ending till spring of 2004. Ended induction and started maintenance at 185lbs.
During that period I maintained a 1 hour weight lifting regimen identical to my high school plus 1 hour of cardio per day. I took saturdays and sundays off, and did only cardio on tuesday and thursday.
I consumed large quantities of sugar free jello and diet soda with aspartame, so definitely aspartame isnt a staller for me.
After I hit owl, I still maintained a low carbohydrate total, but I consumed massive quantities of food, yet fluctuated between 180 and 190lb for the next 3 years.
For example, if there were burgers, it wasn't uncommon for me to eat 3 or 4 of the 1/2 lb burgers, and then eye other people's if they weren't attentive. A common weekly meal for me was a bowl of spinach with some low carb dressing, and another bowl of cooked hamburger meat ( 1lb ) with a chopped up block of muenster cheese ( 1 lb ) melted into it, with a half jar of mayo and half stick of butter melted into it, which I would consume with a spoon in one sitting.
Sunday breakfast consisted of 10 eggs plus a half pound of cheddar cheese melted on it and some mayo, then tossed into a bowl. ( I eat my veggies too, dont worry people)
A common snack for me during the day was a package of string cheese consisting of 12 ounces, and then in the afternoon a package of local butchery beef sticks also consisting of 12 ounces.
I know that on Atkins you still should be watching the calories but for over 2 years I consumed about 4,000 calories a day while keeping my carbohydrates under 35 and watching the bad carbs like sugar, and the weight stayed off.
I know that the exercise was the major factor here but I'm wondering why it is I had that kind of result.
Oh and for the record, I took physicals every 6 months while doing that, and my numbers were spot on, including sodiums, cholesterol, in fact everything was perfect in terms of range for a healthy man in his 20's.
Freakish, huh?
