.....snip No - what the "conspiracy theorists" allege is that claims existing in paper format on the physical gold held under Liberty 33 are orders of magnitude greater than the actual physical gold these claims supposedly have recourse to. Indeed, this too was a conspiracy theory until the failure of MF Global proved it to be a conspiracy "fact" and the entire asset-liability rehypothecation daisy-chain threatened to begin unwinding in November of 2011, at which point forced delivery of hard assets would expose the entire facade of the modern financial system to be a hollow sham.

Yes, it's a very long article. But it should be read by all - it is chock full of insights and useful anecdotes. For me, this article illustrates perfectly that no one is in control at the top. There will be destruction of the currency and severe inflation becuase it is the path of least resistance. History has proven over and over again that men cannot be trusted to manage the coin of the realm. The power it unleashs, the monopoly on issuance of credit and specie, is too great for mortal men to resist, let alone egomaniacal sociopaths who thrive on controlling other people and whose time horizon doesn't extend beyond their next bonus or payoff. Any "audit" of gold by government is a worthless exercise as the government has no credibility whatsoever and it's conflict of interest in the matter is glaring and towering.

The only thing you can trust as a reliable store of wealth is physical gold and silver. Currencies come and go, as do governments and their self-serving central planning nostrums. When the best laid plans of men collapse in ruin and the dust settles, there you will find gold, standing timeless and indifferent to it all.
