My mother-in-law was telling me about pink slime last night....Boy am I glad we raise our own beef! I've also noticed a taste difference between our own hamburger vs store-bought or in some (Italian) restaurants.

i got a pretty good idea of what pink slime could be when i butchered that cow a few weeks ago.

i saved the lungs, liver, and kidneys for the chickens. the lung is definitely pink in color.

and then there's the parts that i chose to not butcher. like the head ... and some parts i'd rather not mention unless you guys ask for the gory details.

i wonder if the pink slime is the parts that were not fit for a hot dog ?
