For someone who makes a living trying to identify trends, I couldn't help but laugh at the irony of him getting blindsided by MF Global.

When you do business with a company, do you think they will inform you of all their mergers & acquisitions? Unless you have contacts everywhere, it is easy to find out the next day that something happened.

If you have advancednotice of some big moves, please share with us. I have worked in companies where the top planners made moves and we did not find out until after the deal was done. Sometimes there are warning signs, sometimes not.
