When I think bath salts, I think "Epsom Salts". Epsom salts are actually taken orally quite regularly, as a laxative. I'm almost sure the article is talking about another chemical when they mention "powerful, synthetic stimulants".

But yes, it is incredibly stupid to inject something you do not fully understand.
