Dr. Kim Lindsey, Supervisory Health Scientist, serves as the Deputy Director for the Laboratory Science Policy and Practice Program Office (LSPPPO) at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). She serves as second in command of the program office. Previously, Dr. Lindsey served as a Senior Health Scientist in the Office of Public Health Preparedness and Response (OPHPR).
The primary role of this position is oversight of the $1.5 billion fiscal allocation process for Terrorism Preparedness and Emergency Response funding agency wide.
Dr. Lindsey served as Deputy Division Director in the Training Services Division of the Office of Workforce and Career Development, where she was involved in strategic planning and policy development for fiscal, administrative, and programmatic activities. As Deputy Branch Chief in the Division of HIV/AIDS Prevention, she aligned programmatic resources with strategic planning goals, objectives, and initiatives. As an HIV/AIDS prevention project officer, Dr. Lindsey represented the branch on technical assistance to state and local health departments and other federal agencies and partner organizations. While a senior scientist with the Bioterrorism Preparedness and Response Program, she reviewed all scientific protocols and provided technical comments to subject matter experts across CDC. Dr. Lindsey received her doctoral degree in immunology and molecular pathogenesis from Emory University and her bachelor’s degree in molecular biology from the University of Central Florida.
