Living around DC I have experienced the shit hole DC is and probably has been since home rule started.

I usually dont talk too much about my real life... but when I was an investigator for the DC Courts I have talked with people who were getting paid by the city govt every week for a job that only existed on paper. not just one person but a few. I have seem Mayor Barry's driver up in a drug corner buying drugs while the mayor waited in the car some blocks away... again a few times. Did you know the students in DC public schools get paid if they just attend classes... Its like $100 a month... not to mention free breakfast and lunch.

Corruption is rank and getting worse. I wouldnt doubt that they would do anything to try and fill the shortfalls in their budget. I no longer work in the city and try not to travel through or around unless I absolutely have too!

DC is a cesspool that most tourists never see even though it can be seen just a couple of blocks away from the National Mall where the Capitol and monuments are located.
