Really? Very sad, then.
I wouldn't say he was bitter back in the day but he certainly spoke his mind. Schumacher prided himself along with Ferrari's PR machine of not showing emotion or giving too much of an opinion (apart from Spa '98). Jacques did the opposite and although his opinions were often misguided or silly, it added entertainment to the sport. F1 can't tolerate people like Montoya and Villeneuve anymore. They are characters. Look at how fans get upset when Lewis Hamilton speaks his mind! People are far too sensitive these days and anyone who has a rant in the sport is instantly labelled as bitter or arrogant. I'd much rather have the Jacques's, the Juan's and the Lewis's over the sterile PR robots to be honest. I much prefer the Schumacher of now to the characterless Schumacher of old, as you can acyually see he's a nice bloke from simple communication with the media.
