part 2 (can't edit fast enough!)
I once saw a dog get hung when he jumped a fence but it wasn't the collar that caused the problem - his line was just long enough that he was able to get over the fence but not all the way to the ground. The dog was fine because he had the good luck to do it where I could see him and where I could get to him right away.
Peanut wears her collar in her crate. All she does in there is sleep anyway - she doesn't do anything that could get her caught on anything.
I once caught her by the collar when she was fence running and I was trying to stop her. I'd done it before - grab it and turn her (I didn't try to yank her to a stop) but this time she kept going and I got my finger caught in the collar n broke my finger badly. So never again!
