I hate how they type the dogs together too, especially since most of the people doing the identifying and saying this is a pitbull type dog are completely ingorant. I mean it's one thing to call an amstaff a pitbull type dog, still not accurate, but I've seen boxers and English bulldogs called pitbull type dogs. That's just freaking ridiculous. Guess what if you start calling half the dogs in the US pitbull type dogs, magically the numbers of bites attributed to pitbull type dogs goes up, hmm how did that happen? I'm reading this awesome book called Pit Bulls: Villains or Victims, and it has awesome info about the history in the US of the media creating villains out of certain dog breeds. It talks about how that happens and why it works, and it has some really great info about dog bite stats and cdc studies that have since been found to be inaccurate that these BSL people are still quoting as fact. There is literally a 12 year old cdc study of dog breeds and dog bites that is used to promote a ton of bsl in the US, and even the cdc doesn't stand behind their own study anymore. It's just absurd amounts of propoganda and misinformation.
