All dogs are individuals and should be assessed as such. But the breed in general as well as the breed type and mixed variants, tend to either be selective or completely dog aggressive and as working dogs ... it would not be unrealistic to expect them to be dog aggressive.
While my dogs get along 99% of the time, they have gotten into it and the bulldog will not quit on their own. They general finish, once started. That's why they are always closely supervised. Never expect them not to fight. It can happen at the drop of a hat and when least expected.
On the other hand, often what you might find in shelters, rescues and foster care are dogs that have been carefully screened for temperament issues before adopting out to the public ... they don't generally (though it does happen more frequently than we like to think), adopt out aggressive dogs.
