I am allergic to dogs (but am a HUGE dog lover) so started out with poodles (I have a standard poodle) but have also found that I can tolerate pit bull types too - my allergies to them are just as mild as they are to poodles. So long as I don't rub my face in their fur and wash my hands after a good pet/snuggling session, wash the dogs every 2 -4 weeks, I'm ok! And yet my brother has a scruffy GSD/terrier mix and I can't be around him for more than an hour before I get asthma issues. So it may just depend on the individual with the allergies and the individual dog.

so far no issues when i have been over to my gf's house.which it does depend on the person and the dog. for example my friends weiner dog that thing flaries up my allergies, where my gf it doesn't bother her allergies at all. while so far the pitbull we got hasn't bothered really either of are allergies.(granted still new to the house but yet the dander and hair is pretty much in every room already. so i am figure it should be fine if, her house stays clean.)
