I know he is DA-and it all about how the dogs present themselves.
This is a lot of it for Trooper as well. We can have him in public with other dogs around and have him behave-but I can see it is very difficult/stressful for him, so we don't ask him to do it a lot. We plan on bringing crates and blankets, and things to keep our guys occupied until it's our turn. My hope is that he is so focused on this lure that the fence they'll use (it's looks like a plastic mesh thing) will prevent him from even noticing the other dogs...not to mention the muzzle we'll have on him. I wish I had one of those handle leashes that I could leave on him while he ran that way if I needed to quickly grab him I could. I plan to completely be on guard with him (and my husband too). I really want to try this, but it would be unfair of me to ask Trooper to do something that is beyond him. So like I said, if we think he can't safely handle it, we'll just make a donation.
If nothing else, you guys can just come out and watch and see if it's something you think Trigger might like/can handle.
