Bella grumbles at me when she is laying on the bed, usually on her back upside down.... She is always just being "mouthy" and "talking" to me... she is never in a defensive mode or acting like anything... any time she has ever grumbled at me, she has been laying around and I consider it just her way to "talk" to me.... actually, it's pretty adorable.

The body language would definitely mean a lot in how I would read this though.
