Pink--thank you for letting me know. I clearly need to stop looking at breeder's sites, it seems to be confusing me more bc they say one thing about their dogs & it's not true...ugh whatever happened to good, honest people?! lol
KSims--oh, sorry, his name is Kenny Sims & he has alot of amstaffs, i didnt even see that you were in Texas, I'm in florida! haha But thank you very for the tip about the skin & all of the other information you've provided!
MJJean--thank you! I do believe I like the "ambully" look better & that is more of what I was looking for, I just thought they were APBT's bc that's what the websites said... thank you for clearing that up!
Iron Chef--yes i definately agree that i should stop looking at breeder's sites, it's only confusing me more! I think i will print out each of the written standards from each registry & do some studying! Also, someone else mentioned that AmBullies have their own registry, which I was aware of....but Since an Amstaff can be registered as an APBT, can an AmBully be registered as either an Amstaff or an APBT???
Kady05--- I prefer the second look, but he looks to Boxer-ish to me...I do not like the look of boxers at all. (no offense to anyone that owns them
) I have discovered that, after being corrected 98623486 times, that I prefer AmBullies...but not the extreme, super short & huge ones that look like they have a problem breathing! lol the more athletic looking ones such as the blue fawn in the first picture. I do love the blue color, I have two APBT's (I THINK!) now and they are both blue & have never had any kind of skin issues but i will deff look into that. Thank you so much!
Cynthia--thank you! I will deff be at the show thanksgiving weekend, I went ahead and took off work for the whole weekend so i could hopefully attend both days
I don't particularly like the ADBA APBT style of dog, not for show purposes anyways, I want a more muscular stocky type...like an AmBully...not sure if you read the previous comments to the people ahead of you or not but I figured out that the dogs that were being referred to online as APBT's are actually AmBullies...that's where my confusion was coming from I do believe! Oh, & no worries about making a rushed decision, I've never been an impulse buyer anyways, that's why I'm asking all of these questions, I want to make an educated, informed purchase that will completely fulfill my wants/needs.
