What about a harness? Moisture can get caught in the folds of her neck but it might not happen with a harness. I try to keep a harness on Bentley at all times because he always scratches at the collars.

I second the harness, even if it's just while she's healing and you figure out a new collar situation. This way you have control, but it's not bothering her balding neck.
