I also would go with feeding them in separate rooms. One reason you SHOULD be concerned about your dog eating too fast is Bloat, which can be deadly. You might want to get the Brake-fast bowl for peace of mind that by slowing down your dogs' eating, you could very well prevent her death by simply buying a $20 bowl. To me, it would be well worth the $$ if I knew it could prevent her from getting Bloat.
