I think it goes back to how experienced a person is in a certain "field".

For instance, some people think I'm crazy because I can tell a Tennessee Walking Horse when I see one. I'm actually pretty good at telling the difference between all horse breeds; but to an average person, a horse is a horse is a horse.

I think the Dogo looks more like a mastiff if any breed. I can see a little bully in the face, but that's only at certain angles of the photos. I actually see more Great Dane than anything else, I think, lol.
