This proves that:
Not all police officers are assholes afraid of dogs
There are still many owners who are assholes and don't deserve dogs
I have taken Sasha with me to run to Home Depot or Wal-Mart or something and left her out in the Jeep while I ran inside. I've done it in the middle of July. But
I keep a spare door key in my wallet and IF I take her with (which I don't do very often) I leave the vehicle running and the air conditioner going with the vents on the passenger side aimed at the seat. I also orient the vehicle when I park so that the sun is not shining on her.
Best solution: Leave the dog at home where there is water and shade (or A/C if they are inside).
But IF you have to take them along leave the car run so they have the A/C.
I know some places you can't leave a vehicle idle in which case leave the dog at home.
I mean damn, if sitting in the car in the sun for more than a few minutes with the windows up is too hot for a person to be comfortable you don't need to have a PhD to realize it's not going to be any better for the dog.
