though I'm told old timers prefer dog's with long, thin canines that were point rather than thick. Apparently the thin canines were better for stabbing while thicker canines functioned like molars, not ideal for piercing. Thicker teeth would be less likely to break. Several dogs had this happen and this left the dog at a SERIOUS disadvantage. I've also heard of some people "sharpening" up the teeth. Not sure how likely they could get away with that. Chances are it speaks volumes for the ability of the dogs and the man.
