Why would you be so picky? I would live where I neede to as long as I could have my dogs. I have lived in some REALLY bad places and I was just grateful that my family (including dogs) could be together.
I'm not going to live anywhere that I would feel would be a danger to my family. I'm not going to live somewhere that I don't feel safe just to keep my dogs. Honestly I would put the well being of my child over keeping my dogs any day. I don't like the idea of rehoming pets or finding them temporary homes, but if I can make sure my child is living in a nice safe environment and the only way for that would be to give up my pets I'd do it. I'm not going to live somewhere that may not be in a good area or may not be safe or may be run down, just to keep a dog. But that is just me. Then again that is why I will not adopt my Staffordshire Bull Terrier until I am in and settled in my new home that I own. Because I couldn't bear to get a dog and then have to part with him. So my big thing is I have to wait. There have been 3 SBTs come my way and I had to pass all 3 up. But I know it won't be long until we are in our house and I can finally get that dog. Hey but everyone has different levels of what they are willing to do when it comes to their dogs, and some will do more than others.

I agree.

I live in "da hood" right now.
I moved out of my moms' nice house, in a nice neighbourhood, to keep Bransen.
This was the only place we could find that would allow him.

A better place will come along.
A better dog won't.
Like I said, some people will do more when it comes to their dogs than others. I think its a personal decision each family has to make. I personally would not go that far to keep my dogs, but I know people who would. Different people, different situations. We would all do something different

Now I do have a question though. Our next door neighbors just got a cat and I can't keep my dog away from the bedroom wall next to their unit. She knows the cat is there and she sits there and cries. Not loudly but wimpers and she wants to get though that wall. I don't think she would try but that cat is teasing her, she knows its there and can't get to it. What would you suggest I do to keep her from pacing the walls? I've pretty much blocked her from that room but there is another area which she stays in when we aren't home that is up against their apartment that she sits and paces at as well.
