even in societies where they eat dogs there are "slaughter" dogs its actually a different breed of dog that has been bred specially for slaughter, like milk cows and angus beef cattle, they went down a different evolutionary tree than pet dogs (just watched a snibit of Taboo that had it on it about a week or so ago lol)
