I got Buffy first bc I wanted a female. I thought she would know I'm a female as well and we would "bond" or something b/c we are both girls, like we could both wear pink and be BFF's (ok, ok, I was young/dumb ...I was a teenager). It could not be more opposite. Buffy is like the protective Mother. Always watching what is going on around, paying attention, very stubborn, did I mention stubborn? she loves everything and is very gentle but more on the serious, but relaxed side. She will play and run but ONLY when SHE wants 2. Oh and Fetch? yeah right, lol. I will throw a ball or stick at her and she will just walk the other way or watch me throw it, roll her eyes and lay down. Spanky is in his own little world, Spanky, OMG, he is my velcro dog. He doesnt leave my side...ever! He is as happy-go-lucky as they come. A sweet sentisive dog. But he pounces and plays like a cat jumping on things not realizing he is 78 LBS. Totally not the smartest cookie in the box either. With Buffy when I am sick Buffy is right there, being her Motherly self. WHere Spanky is always there no matter what.

Buffy is fearless. Spanky is scared of his own shadow.

Spanky is such a Mommas boy where Buffy is a total Daddys girl.
I thought it was going 2 be the other way around.

I have not had a problem with either of their urine staining the grass. At our house here on PA or our vacation house at the beach (different kinds of soil I guess?). But I have seen those pill/supplement things u give your dog 2 help w/ the brown grass. I don't know if they work or not. I've seen them at pet stores.
