I have a good friend that I will play with from time to time. I would play with him more often but he just started playing last year(nothing wrong with that) and he thinks he should be able to play the shots I play and when he does not he often mumbles "I am not sure what happen, I never do that". When he wanted to start playing he asked if I could teach him and I told him I am not a teacher so go take lessons before he starting hitting the course. He took one! When he is having a bad day I try and encourage him with his game and always tell him to go and get more lessons. When he is having that bad day, to him, and it keeps going down hill he gets mad and it gets hard to play with him and add to the fact that he is a slow player also it makes it hard to play with him. Three times he just quit after 9 holes. I will continue to play with him as he is my neighbor, we attend church together and our kids went to school together. But I limit the times I will play with him which is a shame because he is a friend. Its just hard to focus on my game when I play with him. Now when I get paired with someone who has a bad attitude I can usually can just focus on my game as I know I will most likely never see them again and it just does not matter to me what they are doing.
