I always go to golf course Pros because they usually will be able to do a playing lesson. Last year i finished the year off with a whopping 16 GHIN. This year I am down to an 11.6 and definitely on the up and up with my new lesson package. A lot of my scoring issues were around course management, and having someone coach you through your decisions helps a lot. Also, if you go to a course with a range they can do some straight swing work with you after the 9 holes.

Where in Michigan are you? I have taken a lesson at Miles of Golf in Ypsilanti. Crazy amount of technology there, and for a shop, has excellent facilities (putting greens, chipping areas long range etc.). They do try to sell you equipment, but im OK with that if they can prove it on the launch monitors...
