I think the problem is that a lot of us were taught by our fathers and we learned sportsmanship and etiquette. Now people of all ages are buying clubs and heading out to the courses without a clue as to what's proper behavior. The courses where I live don't even have marshalls or anyone on the course except for the mowers. So where are these people going to learn about etiquette? I've learned a lot of new things on here but the average weekend hacker doesn't read internet forums, so the only people they learn from are their buddies, who might not know anything either.
Yep exactly how my local courses are, no one out there besides other players. Problem is, as an adult (anything above 18 I'd say) you should know better. It's almost common sense in some areas. Ball markings and divots, ok maybe not everyone knows that but littering and all that other bs people should know. I'd hope lol
