I play well in the rain, it never bothered me. But as others have mentioned, preparation is key.

Umbrella, rain hat, top, and pants. Rain gloves are a MUST for me. I never use an extra towel, haven't had the need as wet grips don't affect me with the rain gloves. I will still shield the grips as best I can but I don't really do too much to keep them dry.
