Discussions like this really put a tear in my eye wishing I could be playing high school golf. Darn charter schools with no sports.
I'm the only golfer at my school. Only one. All the others are just kids who happen to play golf a little. When I'm with them it's pretty regular for someone to say an expletive word in my backswing, walk in my putting line, putt the pin when I'm in the sand, someone actually pushed their push cart right on the green and set it next to their ball once, and all but two are horrible golfers and concede half the holes. No matter what I try to do to teach and or enforce etiquette nobody follows it.
I feel bad because I put together a golf club (no pun intended) for the school and nobody takes it seriously at all, making me not even want to participate any more.
