A great one for us was, about 6 months after my wife and I took up golf we got to play with a guy who was going to try and Monday qualify for the Nationwide Tours Boise Open. The was a bunch of them checking the course out on Sunday, and they sent two of them out with us. One was a guy named David Lutterus..http://www.pgatour.com/golfers/027613/david-lutterus/ . Very nice guy, and we had a blast playing with him. I'd never heard of him, but since we were really new to golf, I'd never heard of any of them.

He hit the ball a mile, and scored really well, but the cut on Monday was 67 and he shot 68. Later in the year, he finished something like 8th at Q-school, and got his card. We were both just so impressed with how cool he was to us....very nice guy.
