You definitely showed a lot of patience dealing with them for 6 holes with that kind of pace.
Like you, everyone out on the course is there to have a good time, whether you play fast or slow. Personally, I don't want anyone else to take away from the enjoyment I have on the course so if your group is playing too slow, politely excuse yourself and move on to enjoy the rest of your round.
Likewise, I'm not the fastest player out there so if someone in my group wants to play ahead, go for it. No hard feelings. It works both ways. Once again, everyone's there to enjoy some time out on the course.
