Learn when the leagues play, what days, what times etc. Play earlier, or play later that day. Pretty simple stuff.

If you must play, ask the pro shop if they'll let you go off the other side if there's only a league on one side.

It might not be that all leagues are slow, but that 30+ golfers on the course at one time will slow things up.
But for any course, leagues are guaranteed $$$. On those given days/nights, the course can count on anywhere from a dozen to almost 40 golfers that are paying for carts, some paying greens fees, buying beer and most likely ordering food afterwards.
So in the eyes of the golf course, the "damage" that leagues may cause is more than made up for in the revenue that they drive.

"If you can't beat the league, join one!"
