You boys need to get on some longer courses or play tees further back...if your second shot is a 8 or 9 iron all the time you're starting too close to the hole...




...my home course has several holes that are designed to force you to hitting longer irons...lateral hazards, fierce doglegs, trees in the fairway, quick elevation changes that make the smart play the flat area 180 out as designed...due to this the driver comes out the hands quite often as well and some tees even from the tips an iron off the tee is th smart play...one short par 4 plays best as 4 iron/6 iron for instance...so yeah, I use and hit them alot...
