I have used forecaddies before and played alone. Once we took the cart and he drove and handed me all my clubs, cleaned them after each swing, provided yardage and read the greens for me. I usually tip him about 20% of what the greens fees are. In this particular case the greens fees were about 200 bucks so he got a $40 tip. Seems reasonable for all they do and at most courses their only pay is the tip they receive. Their other bennie is that they usually get to play all the free golf at the home course.
