I was actually done with golf for 6 weeks once. I had spent over 6 weeks having rounds in the 70's and my handicap was sitting nicely at 6.6. I went out with some buddies to play a really easy course one Friday afternoon. Coming up the 18th fairway, I was sitting at 99 and I had a 110 yard approach to the green. I hit a "lateral" into a creek that ran along the fairway. I put my club up, pulled my bag off the cart and told my buddies I would be seeing them, they could bid on my clubs on eBay starting the next morning.

I was seething. I did not pick up a club for almost 6 weeks even though I lived on a course and could see people playing every day. I was a member at a CC and all my friends were calling trying to get me to come back out. I was DONE! I finally took a half set of clubs in an old bag and played 9 on the course where I lived. I didn't hit too many bad shots, so slowly, I started to play again.
