The reference to built-in compression shorts is throwing me off. I always remember skorts looking like a skirt in the front, but shorts from the back.

Have they changed the design now?

Yes, they have. I remember when I was a kid owning 'skorts' where it looked just like you described with the skirt look in the front and the shorts look in the back. The skorts of today are SO much better. They have shorts underneath so if the wind blows or you squat down to read the green you don't have to worry about showing off 'the goodies'. But from the exterior they look like a normal, pretty, skirt.
