Sometimes it will affect my game, but not usually.
My regular golf partner (and best buddy), on the other hand has benefitted from playing with me (I say with modesty - LOL). When we began playing together 10 years ago he didn't have much interest, and as a result shot in the 120's.
Last Thursday in League play, he shot 43 for 9 holes (with an 8 on a par 5) for a net 29. Yes, he's a 14 handicap for 9 holes. It was one of those rounds for him where he only blew up on one hole, had one birdie and a par, and everything else basically bogeys. I was so proud of him.
