I've been fortunate enough to have never done damage to anyone's home or property. I think about the worst I've done was bounced a few off roofs. *knocks on wood*

I haven't had anyone come out to scold me, and have picked up numerous balls from yards along the course after putting them there.

I'm not sure who's responsible - I've read that it's the homeowner or the course in the past, but not sure if either of those answers are the correct one. I do know that if I lived along a fairway I'd be sure to put up some netting or have a form of lexan in the windows facing the course.
