This almost exact thing happened on the Canadian tour 2 or so weeks ago. Your partner plays his/her ball from where ever it came to rest after striking your ball. Your ball gets replaced (as close as possible) to it's resting spot after you hit it.

Notice in the video the moved ball was replaced. While Olson took home a new car!
