Ditch the task killer for 2.2+... Unless you're isolating EXTREMELY specific apps, they will cause MORE battery drain due to the nature of some apps that will continue to restart once killed. Froyo introduced a much more efficient task manager, so the vast majority of reasons for 3rd party task killers were eliminated.

Never thought i'd do this, but i agree with micron here. The use of task killers in the age of froyo and up isn't needed anymore. Hell, gingerbread (2.3) is the most aggressive when it comes to maintaining your running apps and all. So the use of a task killer on there is even more useless/pointless.
