Been lucky with my last car, a Peugeot 306 1.9D, its just failed its MOT on corrosion so I'm selling it on, but I probably spent less than £2000 on it in the 6 years I owned it.
Not too bad.

And just bought a Ford Mondeo TDCi for £400, battery went the second day I had it, £92 for that, hopefully nothing else goes on it.
